Abia Dep Gov tasks NANS leaders on dialogue for stable academic calendar

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, has reiterated that dialogue remains the best panacea for the relative peace existing in the academic calendar in the state and the nation as a whole.

Speaking while receiving in audience a delegation of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Zone B, South South and South East zones led by its Coordinator, Comrade Friday Etinyene-Offongekpe at Government House Umuahia, lauded the peaceful relationship existing between various student groups in the state.

The Deputy Governor applauded its leadership for being proactive in addressing issues of student unrest across the country.

He reaffirmed the present administration’s resolve not only to sustain the mission of changing the infrastructural narratives of the state but continue to popularize and champion SMEs development and the Made in Aba products which has placed the state in the national and world markets.

Oko Chukwu expressed delight that Abia has continued to excel in the area of Agriculture, Health and Educational sector even in the midst of paucity of funds and promised that the Governor, Dr Okezie lkpeazu will not relent in his resolve to charge the state positively.

He appreciated the Coordinator of NANS Zone B, for working in close collaboration with the state government describing them as people with critical minds geared towards evolving positive change among youths in the country.

Oko Chukwu however congratulated the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student’s Affairs, Comrade Chibuzor Ndom, for the outstanding leadership award bestowed on him by the NANS group.

Earlier in his remarks, the Coordinator, National Association of Nigerian Students NANS Zone B south south and southeast zones, Comrade Friday Etinyene- Offongekpe, to the number two citizen of Abia state that they visited him to appreciate the Deputy Governor for working assiduously in harmony with his boss to transform the State and for his support towards NANS activities in the State as well as inform him of the most outstanding leadership award earlier bestowed on the SSA on Students Affairs, Comrade Chibuzor Ndom for his inputs in the zone.
