Executive Secretary NUC, Rasheed resumes office, reveals next step

The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, has said the success of the Commission is deeply rooted in Its interaction with the Nigerian University System.

This is as he resumed office on Monday 23rd August, after his re-appointment by President Buhari.

Prof Rasheed applauded the National University Commission’s operations, describing the successful leadership of the system as a product of collective responsibility by all involved.

He said the university community has been growing exponentially in the last few years with more federal universities coming on board while more state and private universities are being established every year.

The ES NUC thanked the President for his re-appointment, pledging that the success in Nigeria’s University system will be sustained.

“I will not promise anything new but I would rather say we will do our best to continue those things we think we have not been doing well, we should do our best to improve and make them better,” he said.

While pledging that the National Universities Commission will do away with all the wrongs that do not support the University system, he appealed for the support of the management of the Commission.

Prof. Adamu Rasheed whose re-appointment took effect 1st of August 2021, is to spend another 5years at the National Universities Commission on a second tenure.
