The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Okpeazu, has approved the dissolution of the Governing Council of Abia State College of Health Science and Management Technology, Aba.
The dissolution was announced in a release signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Chris Ezem, and made available to journalists in Umuahia, on Sunday.
Governor Ikpeazu appreciated members of the dissolved council for their services to the state and wished them well in their various future endeavors.
According to the release, the dissolution of the Governing Council of Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology is with immediate effect.
In another development, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu dispatched a team led by his Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Mr Chibuzo Ndom, to the University of Jos, Plateau State, to evacuate Abia students who are currently stranded as a result of the recent violence and subsequent closure of the institution.
This was disclosed in a release by the State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, and issued to newsmen in Umuahia on Sunday.
