Plateau: Makinde receives Oyo students schooling in Jos

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has received some indigenes of the state who are schooling at the University of Jos.

He received the students at the state secretariat in Ibadan on Tuesday.

BBNAIJA ONLINE” recalls that the governor had earlier ordered evacuation of the students as a result of crisis that erupted in Jos recently.

Crisis erupted as a result of the killing of twenty people who were coming from an Islamic programme in Bauchi.

Some students of the institution have been killed in the last few days after the killing of the twenty travellers at Rukuba area of Jos.

Makinde, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, assured the students that the state government would always do everything within its capacity to protect the lives and properties of its indigenes and residents.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Matters, Victor Olojede, who supervised the evacuation commended Governor Makinde for providing all that were needed in accomplishing the task.

He added that the students were grateful for the kind gesture.

President of National Oduduwa Students Association, UNIJOS Chapter, Kolawole Paul, spoke on behalf of his colleagues.

He described Makinde as an exceptional leader.
