Police bust armed robbery syndicate terrorising Ringim, arrest suspects

Police in Jigawa State has busted a gang of armed robbery syndicate terrorising Ringim local Government and environs.

Ringim locality has been known for its peaceful nature for decades until recently when some groups of criminals began to disturb the serene environment.

The situation resulted in actions by the Security operatives and the local Government authorities.

The legislative council of the local government had recently banned the movement of motorcycles after 12:00am to address the activities of criminals in the area.

Police Spokesman of the command ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam said, the command has succeeded in arresting two members of a gang after series of operations.

According to him “one Idris Sa’idu of Fanisau town Ungogo LGA Kano State was arrested when he and his gang members were pursued by police operatives after entering into the house of one Umar Fasaha of unguwar maina Ringim town while the other gang members escaped”

” Also one Abubakar Adamu of Tsungur village has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery that took place on 26/7/2021 at the residence of one Hannatu Bashir of Nasarawa quarters, Ringim”

He explained that during interrogation, the suspects confessed that he and other gang members have been terrorising Ringim town and environs.

Adam said efforts are in progress to arrest the fleeing gang members.

The command urged the residents to provide police with any useful information that will help in arresting the criminals.
