Troops chase terrorists looting shops in Yobe

Nigerian troops repelled terrorists who have been on a looting spree in Babangida village in Tarmuwa Native Authorities Space of Yobe State.

The insurgents invaded the neighborhood Wednesday night, ransacked provision shops, stole meals objects and medicines earlier than fleeing as troops superior.

“We recovered their truck, deserted weapons, ammunition, and a number of the looted objects,” a navy intelligence officer informed PRNigeria.

“They intentionally mined their escape routes with IEDs to disclaim the troops of pursuit,” he added.

It’s unclear if the terrorists have been of Boko Haram or Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Brigadier Basic Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Military Public Relations confirmed the operation in an announcement.

The spokesman stated troops of Sector 2 Joint Process Pressure underneath North-East Op HADIN KAI foiled the assault.

“One gun truck, one Dushka anti-aircraft gun, two AK 47 rifles and unprimed Improvised Explosive Gadgets (IEDs) have been captured”, Nwachukwu famous.

Chief of Military Workers, Lt. Gen Faruk Yahaya has hailed the officers and males for his or her vigilance and swiftness in countering the assailants.
